Qualifying duties:

1. LIST 11 RANDOM FACTS ABOUT YOU.
2. ANSWER THE QUESTIONS THAT WERE ASKED OF YOU (BY THE BLOGGER THAT NOMINATED YOU).
3. NOMINATE 11 OTHER BLOGS FOR THE LIEBSTER BLOG AWARD AND LINK TO THEIR BLOGS.
4. NOTIFY THE BLOGGERS OF THEIR AWARD.
5. ASK THE AWARD WINNERS 11 QUESTIONS TO ANSWER ONCE THEY ACCEPT THE AWARD

1. LIST 11 RANDOM FACTS ABOUT YOU.
a. I am a Christian.

b. I skipped the second half of second grade. For second grade, I went to a public school and they bumped me up to third grade halfway through the school year. When I transferred to a Catholic grade school the following year, they put me back with my regular grade.

c. My favorite color is blue – almost any hue, shade, tone… but my absolute favorites are teals and azures.

d. From my mystery novel, there is one tiny conversation in that book that actually really happened. If you’ve read the book and can guess, leave it in the comments and I’ll tell you if you’re right. 🙂

e. I got Peanut because my cousins already had their hands full with all of their other animals, a 3-year old, and a flower shop. My cousin-in-law bottle-fed him from 1-day old… he was abandoned by his Mama Cat.

f. I almost fell out of a moving car when I was 7; my cousin (the sister of the one who gave us Peanut) saved me and pulled me back in. It was a total accident – we were goofing around; thank God we weren’t going that fast.

g. Jane Austen is my favorite author, and Pride and Prejudice is the best book ever written. Ever.

h. While I work at my day job, oftentimes I listen to old radio shows on my headphones, including My Favorite Husband and Father Knows Best. In the background of My Favorite Husband, you can often hear Desi Arnaz laughing… that show was the forerunner to I Love Lucy.

i. I had and subsequently lost Hank Aaron’s autograph. Sigh. Oh, and I once bagged Cecil Cooper’s groceries.

j. Baseball is my favorite sport and football is a close second. I’m horrible at sports, but when I did play softball in grade school, I ended up as a catcher (it was soft-pitch, no stolen bases). I rarely got hits, but I got on base a lot – I have a really good eye.

k. I have synesthesia. I’ll be writing more about this later… but I have roughly 8 different kinds of it. It isn’t contagious – it’s a cool neurological condition.

2. ANSWER THE QUESTIONS THAT WERE ASKED OF YOU (BY THE BLOGGER THAT NOMINATED YOU).
a. What is your earliest memory from your childhood?
Being told to not talk “baby talk” by my Mom.

b. What is the meaning of life? Sorry, I just thought you might know.
To treat each other with love and experience joy.

c. If an alien space ship hovered over your city tomorrow how would it change your life? Or would it?
I don’t think anything in my immediate life would change. My heartrate might increase a bit while trying to figure out how it would all handled.

d. If they could clone an extinct dinosaur which one would you like to see cloned?
A big, gentle dopey one that didn’t kill people.

e. If they could clone you, would you want them to do that?
No. I don’t want them to clone anything. Not a good idea.

f. Why do you blog?
I started because of my mystery novel; I continue because I really like it.

g. What are one or two of the most fascinating things you have ever seen?
My friend’s triplets dismantling one of their toddler beds. They were only 20 months at the time and I witnessed it on their baby monitor.

h. If you had a robot that could help you; what would you have it help you with?
Cleaning the house and whatnot.

i. What one or two questions do you have for God?
I don’t have any questions – who am I to ask Him anything? I trust in Him and know that everything will be good.

j. What person from the Bible would you love to sit down with and have a good talk?
People: Job, Ruth, Peter, Paul, James, and, of course, Jesus.

k. If you were boss of the world what changes if any would you make?
If someone didn’t like someone, they would have to spend a day as that person to better understand them.

3. NOMINATE 11 OTHER BLOGS FOR THE LIEBSTER BLOG AWARD AND LINK TO THEIR BLOGS.

a. http://heavenlyraindrops.wordpress.com/

b. http://animalpalooza.wordpress.com/

c. http://hopedog.wordpress.com/

d. http://themotherofnine9.wordpress.com/

e. http://auntiebswax.com/

g. http://wisconsinbites.me/

j. What person from the Bible would you love to sit down with and have a good talk?

k. If you had a million dollars tomorrow, what is your ideal job?

Happy Memorial Day!

Although I say “Happy” Memorial Day, it is only because I’m wishing you all a happy and blessed day to share with your family and friends. However, this day isn’t really one to set aside for being happy, per se. During this day we need to (no, we MUST) remember those who make our freedom and our Right to the Pursuit of Happiness possible.

For my U.S. readers, isn’t the country we live in wonderful? I know that as I’ve gotten older, I’ve grown to appreciate the sacrifices that the soldiers make for us daily and think about the ones who’ve gone before us. My Grandpa fought in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II and I would give anything to be able to talk to him about it (sadly, he left us in the nineties). And my Dad did serve in the Navy. Also, I have other relatives who have served this country. To those soldiers, and all of the other soldiers, I say, “Thank you. May God go with you and you fight for this country.”

For my other readers, I hope that you remember your soldiers fondly, too. I’m sure you do.

Blessings!

Caturday – An Episode of Cat-Shaming!

IMG_0650

Does this look like the face of a kitty who would bite my ankles at 7 in the morning after waking me up by crying at the door? This innocent little face? With the weird “Children of the Corn,” camera-reflected eyes?

DO NOT BE FOOLED!!!

Also, DO NOT BE FOOLED (like I was) that moments before biting my ankles, this sweet (ahem!), little (he’s actually pretty tall) kitty was bumping against my hand and licked it a couple of times.

To borrow shamelessly from Dog-Shaming (see what I did there? 🙂 ), I call a little shame upon Peanut-Monster’s head. However, I know he’s not sorry. Matter of fact, he’s already sound asleep, purring happily that he got me up! LOL

I guess I’m up – better get some coffee and feed the little monster. 🙂

Blessings!

Arrested Development Season 4 PreviewBreak out those Cornballers and dust off your best Chicken Dance moves: Arrested Development is back!

Courtesy of Netflix, the long-gone cult comedy (finally) returns this Sunday, May 26 with 15 all-new installments — but what can faithful followers of the Bluths (and Funkes) expect out of the revived series?

TVLine posed that very question to Arrested vets Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, David Cross, Jessica Walter, Michael Cera and Alia Shawkat during a recent round of interviews, and their answers might surprise you.

VIDEO |Arrested Development Season 4 Trailer

For starters, shares Cross, “You’ll get to see [these characters] outside of the family,” in Season 4. “In the first three seasons, they move and age as a family unit… The [new format] is satisfying as a fan of the show” — sentiments with which de Rossi agrees. “It’s very satisfying as an actor… because…

FREE Mystery Ebook from 5/20 to 5/22!!!

MIDDC_Web_small_eCOVER_js

This is the last time I will be utilizing Amazon’s KDP Select free days. After July, I’m not renewing my KDP membership since the whole system seems to be changing. Plus, I only have one book, so the free days aren’t as beneficial for me as for some authors. Don’t get me wrong – I’m not complaining. The free days have helped me quite a bit and I am very grateful.

In any case… Murder in Death’s Door County will be “on the house” from today (Monday) through Wednesday! So, travel vicariously to Door County, Wisconsin – a beautiful area! 🙂
