Bookkus is offering a really exciting opportunity for authors to get their books published by peer reviews. So, the authors get the chance to really be “heard” and not stuck in some slushie pile. And what do you, the reader, get? The opportunity to find hidden gems! Plus, YOU get a voice in saying whether they should be published! A win-win, right? Yep.
And, really… I think we all know the correct answer… while today is “Pi Day” (ahem, 3.14)… EVERYDAY is “Pie Day.”
Because pie is the best dessert in the whole world. So many variations, not enough time.
‘Nuff said. Don’t bring me birthday cake, bring me birthday pie, I say!
So much do I believe in the Power of PIE that I think countries should exchange it with one another to avert conflict. Just as no one can be sad at a baseball game (it is true), no one can be sad eating pie!
I haven’t written or posted anything for a couple of weeks. A couple of things happened… my car got totaled in a four car accident (the car is drivable, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, everyone was OK – no injuries. Thank God in heaven!) and two of my dearest friends went through a tragedy. Therefore, I wasn’t really in the mood to post anything.
But I have regrouped and realized something major.
Well… for a while now (probably over the last seven years or so) I’ve been realizing something… I don’t really like writing. I would rather do anything than write. And it isn’t Blank Page Syndrome. Writing my little book was a challenging thing because I hate writing. Don’t get me wrong: I like my characters and am proud of the finished product – my humble little cozy mystery.
I love to read and that’s really why I majored in English Literature when I went to college. However, my first creative love is art.
Which I have neglected for the longest time.
And I am getting back into it, which is a good thing.
So, it is definitely winter in Wisconsin. We are in the middle of a horrid cold snap. Brrrr… the temperature this morning is roughly -9°F, and about -25 with the wind chill. Yesterday, when I left my day job, my car was not happy. And the cold made my gas pedal very stiff. Not fun for someone who likes to drive fairly fast.
My sweetie usually parks in the garage (I have a bit of a fear of parking in garages since I hit one once and caused $2,000 in damage), but last night he let me… fingers crossed that my car starts today. Gotta go make some money to pay for an advertising campaign for my humble little cozy mystery.
Speaking of which, expect an announcement for a Kindle promotion soon! With that I will leave you with two good thoughts and a picture:
1. Temperatures will be in the 30s by the end of this week.
2. We gain about half an hour of sunlight by the end of this month!
